When a vehicle goes on a test drive, it's crucial to record if a dealer plate was attached at the time.
This information allows you to identify who was driving the vehicle in the event a parking fine or traffic offense is issued to the dealer plate.
Adding Dealer Plates to your DMS library
- Navigate to Tools > Lookups > Vehicle… > All Vehicles (tab)
- Click the 'Dealer Plates' button
- Click the 'Add' button and enter the Dealer Plate Info
- Click 'Finish' to save
You can also edit or delete dealer plates as needed from this location.
Adding a Dealer Plate to a Test Drive (DMS)
- Navigate to the 'Dealer Plate' dropdown field in the Test Drive activity screen
- Select a Dealer Plate or 'Add New...' to add a Dealer Plate not already listed
- Complete the remainder of the Test Drive information
- Click 'Save'
Adding a Dealer Plate to a Test Drive (Mobile App)
- Start a Test Drive activity and complete the necessary steps until you reach the below screen
- Switch on 'Attach Dealer Plate' to show the Dealer Plate selector
- Select a Dealer Plate from those in your library or add a new one
- Complete the remainder of the test drive wizard

- The system automatically adds an Event Log if any of the following information changes on a test drive activity.
- Test Drive Start Time
- Test Drive End Time
- Dealer Plate
- When a customer opts to digitally sign on device, they can request a copy of the test drive agreement be emailed to them for their own records. This will include the start time of the test drive, estimated return time and the Dealer Plate (if any).
