Other features in this release

Administration, security & user management

  • Fixed slow login when two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled: the 2FA code prompt now appears immediately instead of being delayed by an automatic retry and wait period. This reduces the time taken to sign in for accounts using 2FA. DA
  • Authentication has been optimised to reduce login delays and unnecessary network requests, improving sign-in speed and session reliability. DA
  • When generating a Full Car Check, authorised accounts with NZTA access will now be prompted to select a reason for viewing the vehicle's current Registered Person and can add notes; accounts without access will have registered person details automatically removed from the report. D
  • User preference options have been moved from File > User preferences into the User Profile and are now available under a new Preferences tab, so personal settings are accessed from the profile area. D

Inventory & vehicle management

  • Price fields in the Motorcentral App now support "extended mode" which allows adding tax rate, tax amount and currency fields. A
  • When a sale invoice date is changed, the 'Date on Yard' for any trade-in will be updated to the new invoice date if the trade-in's 'Date on Yard' currently matches its Purchase Date. If a dealer has already set the 'Date on Yard' to a different value, that custom date will not be changed. DA
  • Fixed an issue where expense fields on Vehicle Templates became uneditable if an Accounting Period was set, forcing users to remove the period to make changes. Expense pricing and information can now be updated without removing the Accounting Period. D
  • Customer-supplied vehicle photos now display correctly on the Images tab of Trade Appraisals. DA
  • Vehicle cost breakdown added to the Motorcentral app so you can now update purchase information such as freight, agent fee and exchange rate. A
  • New star ratings for Driver Safety, Crash Avoidance and Air Pollution have been added for Passenger Vehicles, Goods Vehicles and Motorhomes, and the existing ‘Safety Rating’ label has been renamed to ‘Overall Safety Rating’. D
  • Engine type options have been updated to explicitly include hybrid types (Battery Electric Hybrid, Hybrid Electric Plug‑In and Plug‑In Hybrid Electric), and the fuel-type fields now default and lock to electricity where appropriate while allowing a secondary fuel to be shown for hybrids. CIN cards and website exports have been updated to use these new engine types. DA
  • RUC warning has been extended to vehicles that have an engine type of Electric, Hybrid, or Plug-In Hybrid, reflecting that electric vehicles now also incur RUCs. D
  • An issue where the CIN timestamp on digitally signed documents was being cropped has been fixed, so the full date and time now displays correctly on signed documents. D
  • Visibility of purchase cost details has changed: when adding an existing trade-in to a sale, the vehicle search 'Total Cost' column now appears only for users who have both the 'Access Purchase costs' admin right and the 'View/Edit Expenses Tab' selected. This is a breaking change from the previous behaviour (which used "View Purchase Tab" + "View Expenses Tab") to determine visibility. D

Sales & lead management

  • A Business Manager column has been added to the Sales Agreement screen as a Display Inbox column. It is shown by default after the Salesperson column and before the action icons. D
  • Add Customer now opens the contact search window by default to encourage searching for existing customers before creating new ones; the "Existing Customer..." label has been changed to "Select Customer..." and the "Add..." button is now labelled "Add New...". Sale, Quote and Finance screens no longer use dropdowns and will launch the contact search instead, and the Escape key now closes contact and vehicle search forms. D
  • A 'Reply To' fieldset has been added to Digital Signing that lets users choose which email will be used as the Reply‑To when sending digital signing requests. The dropdown includes the logged-in user (default), the salesperson on the sale, the business manager on the sale or a dealership email address (defined under Dealership Settings). D
  • Fixed an issue where the “Add New” button in Digital Signing > New Request > Email Text Library failed to create a new email template and returned to the same window; users can now add new email templates to the library as expected. D
  • When a driver licence is scanned in the Motorcentral app the system now searches for existing customers by mobile number or email and prompts the user if matching records are found. If a match is selected the user is offered the option to update the customer's details; if no matches are found the process continues as normal. A
  • Fixed an issue where creating a new sale did not prompt for the customer's contact type. Users are now asked to choose Individual or Company when first adding a sale, matching the prompt shown when adding a customer to an existing sale. A
  • The Digital Signing template editor no longer shows the email subject field, because the subject cannot be overridden by templates. This prevents confusion by removing a field that has no effect on outgoing messages. D
  • Fixed an issue where completing a test drive could create duplicate accounting audit log entries. DA

Finance, accounting & compliance

  • Before generating a Full Car Check, users with NZTA registered person access are now prompted to choose and record the lawful reason for including a vehicle’s Registered Person information. Personal info will not be requested or shown if ‘Not requested’ is chosen and retained/hidden according to existing retention rules. Also a new Car Check Audit Report (CSV for Desktop, ZIP for Web/App) is available to export dealership records (dealership, date range and report-type filters) for NZTA compliance, including separate files for checks and user audit. DA
  • Emailed Purchase Orders no longer cut off characters in fields such as plate numbers, engine numbers, VINs and item descriptions. The emailed copy now matches the full text shown in the Print Order view. DA

Marketing, advertising & exporting vehicles

  • Fixed an issue that caused Trade Me exports to fail when a listing contained only poster images; the exporter now handles cases where all images are filtered out. DA
  • Tabs in the Trade Me export multi-dealer workflow now turn red when validation errors exist in the vehicle list, allowing problematic vehicles to be easier to identify prior to export. DA
  • Export now uploads the CIN and summary sheet only if the vehicle data has changed, making vehicle exports faster. DA

Reporting, analytics & insights

  • A new 'Test Drive Activity' report has been added. D
  • A new 'Purchase agreement' report has been added, and purchase-at-gate agreements can now be overridden across implementations. Vehicle reports now support the Purchase Agreement override, digital signing for Purchase Agreements is available within Vehicle, and a “Supports digital signing” checkbox has been added to report settings. D
  • Reports that filter vehicles by 'sale status' now use the accounting (invoice) date and will fall back to the sale date if no invoice date is entered. This is a breaking change: vehicles may appear as sold on different report dates than before because filtering now uses the invoice date where present. D
  • The 'Vehicle Expenses' report now sorts expense entries by their expense date, making the report easier to read and review chronologically. DA
  • New wildcards for a vehicle's VIN and chassis number have been added and will appear in the wildcard list as "Vehicle VIN" and "Vehicle Chassis No", allowing those values to be inserted into templates, documents and messages. D
  • The MR13B report layout has been updated so the customer's gender now prints as ‘Male’ or ‘Female’. Other fields on the form have been realigned to ensure correct spacing and alignment when printed. D
  • Some 'Dashboard' cards now include a settings (hamburger) menu starting with the Sales card. DA

Notifications & messaging

  • Tasks and reminders are now available in the Motorcentral mobile app, matching desktop functionality. Task lists now use paging, so very large numbers of tasks aren’t loaded all at once. A
  • Mobile notifications can now include action buttons, for example direct links to vehicles, sales & opportunities. A
  • Fixed an issue where the taskbar/system tray icon always showed a '1' notification badge even after notifications were read or cleared. The system tray count now correctly clears when there are no unread notifications. D

Third party integrations

  • A clean-up script now removes Xero integration connections for users whose accounts no longer include the Accounting module, preventing inactive or orphaned Xero links. This runs automatically so only users with the Accounting module retain Xero access. D
  • Added new Xero API settings to choose whether sale and purchase invoices are created as Tax Inclusive or Tax Exclusive; Xero exports will now honour these settings so tax amounts and line amount types match the chosen option. D
  • Xero extension now displays dealership-level connection details and clearly indicates when a dealership overrides the main Xero configuration or has a broken connection. This makes it obvious if a dealership is connected to a different Xero organisation or if its connection has failed. D
  • Xero sign-in now opens in the Motorcentral Desktop in‑app browser instead of launching an external browser. This keeps users within the app during authorisation and provides a smoother authentication experience. D
  • Resolved an issue where IBC Japan and ATNZ2000 imports used the same parameter, causing values to overwrite each other. Parameter mapping has been corrected so they no longer conflict and imports complete correctly. D
  • Trade Me statistics now display correctly after the Autobase extension was removed, restoring accurate marketplace stats reporting. No action is required from users. D
  • The Trade Me Superfeatures option has been removed from all locations in Motorcentral, including the mobile (PWA) interface. D
  • Motorcentral now maps 'vehicle payload' and 'wheel configuration' to the Trade Me Dealerbase API. DA
  • Removed listing agent extensions 'Better' & 'Unixmo'. DA
  • Removed 'Davey Japan' vehicle importer extension. D

Other

  • Internal API logic has been improved to reduce occasional errors and improve performance when retrieving and updating data, resulting in more reliable and responsive behaviour. DA
  • Documents list added to 'Tools' mobile app. A
  • Search performance and relevance have been improved across both the Desktop and mobile (PWA). Users will see faster, more reliable results when searching vehicles, sales opportunities and contacts. DA
