Prior to adding a new customer into your database, ensure you search for them first. This is to avoid creating duplicate contacts in the system. Duplicate contacts can result in the customer receiving incorrect marketing communications based on where they are in the buying process.
Step 1: Navigate to the opportunities icon on the left side of the main Motorcentral screen
Step 2: Search for the customer using the search box and dealership filters > Select ‘Go’ to return results.
- Search box – The most reliable way to search is for either their mobile number or email address. This is because customers may have previously used a different name on their last enquiry, e.g. shortened name or nickname.
- Dealership filter - You can refine your search by selecting a dealership. If no result is found, try removing the dealership filter as the original enquiry may have started in another branch.
Step 3: Once the results have been returned, double click on the opportunity you would like to work with.
