Configuring Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on Motorcentral

Two‑factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security by requiring two forms of identification to access Motorcentral DMS. We recommend enabling 2FA to better protect your account and data.

Use 2FA to secure your Motorcentral account—this enhances protection whether you're using the Windows desktop version or the mobile app.

Setting up two‑factor authentication

You only need to enable 2FA once via the Motorcentral Windows desktop app. After setup, 2FA will be required both on the desktop and mobile app.

  1. Click your name on the main screen to open your user settings.

  2. Click the Configure button under Two‑factor Authentication.

  3. In the setup window, open your authenticator app and scan the QR code provided.

    ⚠️ Warning: only use an authenticator app to scan this QR code. do not use a QR reader app.

    If you can’t scan, click Enter a setup key instead and input it manually.

  4. After adding Motorcentral in your authenticator app, enter the six-digit code into the “One-time pass code” field and click OK to finish setup.

🎉 Congratulations, 2FA is now enabled for your account—on both the desktop application and the mobile app.

From now on, each time you log in (on any platform), you’ll need to open your authenticator app and enter the one-time pass code.

Changing authenticator app

  1. After setup, the 2FA button will show a “configured” status.

  2. Click Configure again. You’ll be prompted for your current 2FA code, then see options to:mceclip2.png
    Note: if your organisation enforces 2FA, you can’t disable it.
  3. To use a different app, click OK to repeat the setup process. this will replace your old 2FA method.
  • 🔁 You can switch authenticator apps by repeating the setup steps.
