Installing and connecting Motorcentral

This article walks you through installing Motorcentral Desktop and setting up the Motorcentral App, so you can log in and start using the system.

Motorcentral has two products: Motorcentral Desktop is a Windows application you install on your PC, and Motorcentral App is available in your browser or on your favourite mobile device via the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Installing Motorcentral

On Desktop

You will need a Windows PC (Windows 10 or later) with an internet connection.

  1. Go to the Motorcentral download page ↗.
  2. Click Download to download the installer.

  3. Open the downloaded installer file.
  4. Click Next to step through the installation wizard.

  5. Click Finish when the installation is complete. A Motorcentral shortcut will appear on your desktop.

On the App

Download the Motorcentral App from your device's app store:

The App is also accessible from any modern web browser at app.motorcentral.co.nz ↗.

Connecting and logging in

On Desktop

When you open Motorcentral Desktop for the first time, the connection dialog appears automatically. If it doesn't appear, go to File > Connection from the main menu.

Option 1: Use Account

Select this if your administrator has given you your account credentials. If you don't have credentials, contact the Motorcentral support team ↗.

  1. Select the Use Account tab.

  2. Enter your Account Number (you can find this on your Motorcentral invoice), Username, and Password.
  3. Click OK.

If you have forgotten your password, click Forgot Password on the connection dialog. You must enter your Account Number and Username first. If you don't know your username, check with your dealership's system administrator.

A password reset email will be sent to the email address associated with your username.

 

Option 2: Use Connection Code

Select this only if your administrator has given you an encrypted Connection Code.

  1. Select the Use Connection Code tab.

  2. Paste the code into the Data Service Connection Code field.
  3. Click OK.

 

Option 3: Use Demo

Select this to connect to a demo database for previewing the software.

  1. Select the Use Demo tab.

  2. Select a demo database type: Cars (Standard), Cars (Express), or Motorcycles.
  3. Click OK.

After a successful connection, the login screen appears.

  1. Enter your Username and Password

  2. Click Log in.

On the App

Open the Motorcentral App and enter your login credentials on the login screen.

  1. Enter your Customer Number (you can find this on your Motorcentral invoice), Username, and Password

  2. Tap Log in.

If you have forgotten your password, tap Forgot Password on the login screen. You must enter your Customer Number and Username first. If you don't know your username, check with your dealership's system administrator.

A password reset email will be sent to the email address associated with your username.

Once you log in, the Motorcentral dashboard loads. This confirms your connection is working correctly.

If the dashboard does not load or you see a connection error:

  • Check that your account number, username, and password are correct.
  • Confirm your device has an active internet connection.
  • Contact the Motorcentral support team ↗ if you need help.
